The Tilda Large Chandelier by Arteriors is my favorite find. This rustically refined chandelier instantly transforms a space. A real statement piece! The multi-tiered form features whitewash-stained wooden dowels, finished in white, on curved and pliable iron arms.  The wooden rods will arrive with a series of inherent fissures and cracks that will widen and multiply over time. This is considered a natural occurrence and is both beautiful and intentional.

The Tilda has been one of my favorite chandeliers for a long time. It is a stunning, dramatic modern light during the day. At night, the way it interacts with its surroundings creates a branch-like shadow, almost like a spiderweb.

The Roxy Swivel-Tilt Tub Chair by Thayer Coggin is a contemporary creation with a timeless design. Initially designed in 1965 by Milo Baughman, the Roxy swivel-tilt chair is a modern classic. Featuring wood, metal, or upholstered base options, button tufting, and a unique swivel tilt mechanism, Roxy is as timeless as it is comfortable.

Not only is the Roxy swivel-tilt chair very comfortable, it is also the perfect scale for spaces needing a slightly smaller swivel chair without compromising on comfort for people of any height. The Ardesia Circular LED Pendant by Hubbardton Forge is my favorite find.

Mixed materials are not only on-trend, but show both the organic nature of slate from a Vermont quarry and the metalwork of skilled Vermont artisans. Illuminated by a LED light-guide platform, the Ardesia is the apex of where technology meets nature. A natural element, slate has slight variations in size, color and texture. Also available as a large, linear pendant.

The Ardesia lends itself to a modern mountain luxe aesthetic so loved by our area designers. The even distribution of light across a textural element is unique and because Hubbardton allows for customization I have seen this fabricated using both a white alabaster and the black slate. 

As a company, Hubbardton Forge has a strong ethos of sustainability. Working with local artisans and providers their materials and technology are sourced in the US. For fixtures that utilize an integrated LED light source, they can be replaced without disposing of the entire fixture, not typical of many manufacturers.

The Tatum Swivel by Century Furniture is part of their T-Chair series. It has different arm and base options you can choose along with different cushion options to fit your comfort.

The versatility of the options available really makes it feel like a built-for-me chair.  It is oversized and great for curling up to read, nap, or watch TV.  They now also offer a petite version which is perfect for when you want the look and feel but you do not have the space for a larger chair.

The Lomme XL Chandelier by Visual Comfort features a soft brass finish, and is led integrated. This fixture is offered in a single pendant and a linear chandelier.

I am infatuated with the elegancy of this fixture. The different shapes of the water droplet glasses that comes with this fixture are stunning. Having the option to position the glasses to your liking is another “wow” factor. Not to mention that is is LED Integrated.

What is your past work experience/education? Tell us a little bit about how you ended up in this field and what experiences brought you to the world of design.

I started my career as an on-location carpet and upholstery cleaner. I was then hired as a salesman, where I was bitten by the ‘rug bug’ and have been helping folks imagine and produce whatever they can dream.  AKA… The Rug Guy . “Art for the Floor, a Soul for you room”.

Where were you raised?
Woodstock, Illinois (not the famous one).

Where do you draw inspiration from? 
I’m a visual learner so nature and anything within view.

What is your most rewarding project and why? 
I love seeing the reaction of buyers when they receive their
rugs, so all projects are very rewarding.

In your experience working with C.A.I. Designs thus far, what are some of your favorite product lines and why?
All things beautiful, inspiring and of course rugs!

What is your favorite color?
Any shade of green

What do you like to do in your spare time? (Hobbies, Talents, Travel, Family, etc.)
Cook, make things in the kitchen. . . My S>T>B>F> brand that I
have yet to get out of the kitchen. . .(Soon to be Famous). I’m
also a drummer. Married with an 11 year old son and 34 year old
daughter, proud dad.

If you could travel back in time, where/when would you go and why?
Back to me in HS and tell me not to stress the future, just let it
roll, and it has 🙂

How would you characterize your design style?
Mid-Century interpretive “That’s a great idea, let’s make that”.

Do you have a favorite quote?
“Let me take care of that!”

What is your favorite food?
Sushi

What is your favorite TV series?
Resident Alien

The Panache Swivel Chair from Wesley Hall is one my favorite pieces. The combination of the comfort down seat and goose down back is truly comfort at its best. This swivel mechanism gives you the ability to move and engage with anything that may be going around you from conversations with friends to taking in the scenes from around you.

The beveled arm detail lends the chair to fit into any style, from traditional to contemporary, depending on the fabric. We chose a colorful, fun, bold print for this chair for a statement piece and to showcase Wesley Hall’s exquisite tailoring.

The Corato Chandelier from Lib & Co. features elegant, handcrafted glass with petal-like detail and a unique design. This natural work of art casts an inviting glow to any room.

This fixture is beautiful from any angle, giving off a magical light. It is a must-see in person—a photo doesn’t do it justice!
