“Coming from my favorite corner in the Arlington Heights showroom, my inspiration is from mixing materials reminiscent of my home in New Mexico. The use of refined pieces with dusty palettes from the sunset to tribal patterning coming from the surrounding reservations to organic shapes found in the river valley, they each evoke memories of discovering items in old barns or ranches and digging through my grandparent’s treasure trove of pieces from generations past.”

“The inspiration for creating this home was the serene view of Lake Josephine located in Arden Hills, MN. The goal of our work was to blend outdoor and indoor living with an earth toned color scheme with blue/green accents, and inviting, comfortable, yet elegant furnishings that reflect our client’s sophisticated lifestyle.”

“Our priority in each of our projects is to truly understand what design aesthetic creates a sanctuary, a place of refueling and peace, for our clients in their homes. This great room is an excellent example, our clients love traveling out west and wanted to bring that feeling back to their Midwest property when building their new home.”

“The large black artwork by Francine Turk behind the dining room table is a French poem written in dripping gold paint and serves as the inspiration for the dining room design. We wanted to create the moodiness and elegance of an urban French home.”

“This is a photo from the great room in my clients’ home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. This is a large, open, and casually elegant gathering space. A big part of my inspiration actually began with the fabric on the Marge Carson chair in the forefront. I had previously seen this fabric on dining chairs in the CAI Scottsdale showroom and fell in love with it and wanted to use it in a project, so I was very happy to use it here! That set the tone for the other fabric colors in the room. Dana Bryant was a great help for me with these selections as well.”

“The inspiration for the room was the view of the rock formations outside the windows. The Clip sofas not only complemented the architecture of the home, but also brought the feeling and form of nature into the room.”
Introducing Friday Finds. This week’s feature: Julie Dunfee Designs from Chicago! “This may sound trite but it is my clients’ lifestyles that truly inspire me. I believe everyone’s home should be as unique as they are, so first we have a deep conversation about what they like to do and how they like to live, and then I use that as my muse when I am looking for the perfect items for their rooms.”
